Abstract
Natural oils are a large group of substances with varied compositions and properties. Thus, their utilization in polymers must be carefully planned. Generally, oils are less pure starting materials for the synthesis of polymers compared to petrochemicals, which may have a negative or positive influence on their applications. Designing oils with a desired structure by genetic modifications for a given application is an exciting future development. This chapter [1] tries to systematically analyze the influence of structural factors on the properties and the technologies used to obtain desired products.
