Abstract
Beginning of a Playbill: a weekly magazine for theatregoers, for Lost in the Stars: A Musical Tragedy. Based on Alan Paton's novel Cry, the Beloved Country, the entire production was conceived and staged by Jose Quintero with Julius Rudel as the general director. Words were written by Maxwell Anderson and music composed by Kurt Weill. Eva Jessye played the character Mrs. Mkize.
