SALUTE TO EVA JESSYE
As Mayor of the District of Columbia, it gives me great pleasure to salute Dr. Eva Jessye, musical and choral director and former school teacher, writer, newspaper woman and actress.
Eva Jessye has distinguished herself nationally and internationally and has exemplified the high caliber of talent that can be found in our community. In distinguishing herself, she has honored America and her people and has demonstrated the rewards of diligence and discipline in developing one's innate abilities. These outstanding achievements symbolize a rare meshing of personal traits and leadership abilities as exhibited by sensitivity, wisdom, congeniality and democratic approach in working with others. We are all very proud of Eva Jessye.
I know the residents of our Nation's Capital join with me in this expression of support and gratitude for the many outstanding contributions made to our city and nation by Dr. Jessye.
