Description
Black & White photograph of a row of Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter planes lined up at the Debden, England, airfield, circa 1943. The P-47 Thunderbolt (fourth from left) has the code 'WD' painted on its fuselage, belonging to the United States Eighth Army Air Force 335th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group (formerly the No. 121 'Eagle' Squadron of the Royal Air Force). A number of military personnel are shown in the photo, as well as a 1942 or1943 US Army Jeep Willys MB belonging to the 409th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group.
