Black & White photograph taken on March 21, 1945, of the Statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I that had been hit by artillary fire. On the back of the photo is typewritten, "ETO HQ 45 21380 19 MAR CREDIT... U S ARMY SIGNAL CORPS PHOTOG...T/5 BILLY A NEWHOUSE 166 STATUE OF KAISER WILHELM I, LOCATED AT THE JUNCTION TOWN OF COBLENZ [Koblenz] BETWEEN THE RHINE AND MOSELLE [Rivers], HAS BEEN TOPPLED FROM ITS BASE IN MEMORIAL HIT HARD BY U.S. ARTILLERY FIRE. E/ TUSA".
