In the 2024-2025 academic year, Pittsburg State University started pushing itself to learn more about Artificial Intelligence [AI] and how it fits into and impacts higher education. This push has led to faculty members researching and writing articles, testing AI programs in the classroom, and the library preparing to be a source for learning and exploring these programs.

Upcoming

To generate more internal and external discussion on AI for the university, the inaugural AI Symposium, "AI in Academia & the Workforce: Exploring the Impact and Implications," is being hosted at the Overman Student Center Ballrooms on April 22, 2025 from 3 to 6 pm.

Librarians at Leonard H. Axe Library are creating a LibGuide for students to find tips, tricks, and insights on AI along with helpful resources. Launching of the guide is expected by the end of the 2025 Spring semester.
