These photographs show the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial March held on April 9, 1968--part of the Holy Week Uprising following King's assassination. It was led by members of the Black Student Movement, escorted by Pittsburg Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol, south on Broadway Street in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas.
