Description
Pittsburg, the largest city in Crawford Count, is the center of the Southeast Kansas coal fields. Here, gigantic shovels strip the overburden from the rich thick layers of soft coal, hundreds of tons of coal being mined here everyday. Pittsburg is also th eseat of the Kansas State Teachers College.
