Abstract
Dr. H. Francis Short, Pitt State alum, was a member of the Kansas State Teachers College faculty from 1955 to 1986 (after it officially became Pittsburg State University). Short coached debate for 40 years and was known as the "Head Gorilla" on the national debate circuit during his years at PSU. Short served as PSU's first KNEA president from 1974 to 1975.
