Nine different small businesses were invited to the first ever ‘Queer Arts and Crafts Fair’ on Oct. 4. Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) hosted the event in the Oval from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PSU students decorate sweets with Plenty O’Cookies

Gorilla Activities Board hosted a cookie decorating teaching class taught by drag queen Plenty O'Smiles. The event had around 100 students participate in decorating cookies and saw a table for the Gender Sexuality Alliance to reach out to people at the event.

PRISM Hosts Queer Crafts Event in Celebration of the LGBTQ Community and Empowerment Week

Pitt State is home to a wide range of student groups focused on diversity. Empowerment Week was a campus-wide event featuring PRISM, the Black Student Association, Students for Violence Prevention, Hispanics of Today and more. Each group works to bring support and awareness to the various diverse communities on campus.

Student Organization Host Interactive "Tunnel of Oppression"

On Tuesday, Apr. 20 through Wednesday, Apr. 21, several student organizations across campus came together to present an interactive exhibit entitled “Tunnel of Oppression” in Ballroom A of the Overman Student Center. The exhibit consisted of several smaller displays sharing information on the different forms of oppression in the world.

NASA, Q-Space, GSA, SVP host Two-Spirit Education Event

The Native American Student Association (NASA), Students for Violence Protection (SVP), Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA), and Q-Space came together and hosted a two-spirit education event on Nov. 4 at the KTC.

BANGO Teaches Students about Sexual Health

Gorilla Peer Health combined learning about sexual health education and bingo to create BANGO. Gorilla Peer Health also invited PRISM (GSA) to table the event. The group discussed LGBTQ+ sex positivity.

Students Show Solidarity with Silence

PRISM (now GSA) participated in Day of Silence, a national movement to bring awareness to the bullying and harassment those in the LGBTQ+ community face and how they can be silenced from it.

Drag Show Dazzles at U-Club
