Abstract
Statement of the Problem
The purpose of this study was to develop a diagnostic and remedial procedure in reading which would be practicable and effective in improving the reading ability of the freshmen in Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburg, Kansas, who by their rankings in the Entrance and Classification Examination proved to be deficient in reading. The development of such a remedial procedure necessitated a diagnostic study of the individual cases and their reading background.
