Abstract
Neoplasms may be defined as a pathological growth arising in normal tissues. One common type of neoplatic growth is called a tumor. Turmos may be calssified into two classes, benign and malignant turmos. The benign turmos grows locally by pushing aside the surrounding normal tissue. The malignant tumors grow by invasion and destruction of surrounding tissue and has the capacity to form metastasis.
Since tumor growth is a pathological condition of the cells, some knowledge of cytology seems essential to its comprehension. The study of embryological cytology furnishes the keynote to the understanding of many phases of cellular behavior. [Taken from Introduction]
