Abstract

Eva Jessye and the Eva Jessye Choir opened the 1943-44 season of Free Victory Concerts at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The concerts were held on alternating Sundays, beginning with the choir performing a variety of songs and spirituals, some fromPorgy and Bess, on October 17, 1943. The Greater Boston U.S.O was the sponsor.
