The sixteenth season of the music festival took place from June 26 to August 12, 1951. The July 1st performace was the "All Gershwin Program" featuring the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by William Steinberg, and the Eva Jessye Chorus. It includes program notes about Gershwin and his works.
