Abstract

The Chicago Music Association (Branch No. 1) of the National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc., held the Annual Negro History Observance at the St. Luke United Methodist Church. The observance featured traditional and contemporary music of black composers. Eva Jessye gave an address, "The Gift from the Altar."
