Abstract

"An Historical Panorama," a unique music, drama, and dance extravaganza. This performance was held on April 8 and 9, 1982. Eva Jessye directed and performed in this show. The program is signed "To Gene DeGruson, Eva Jessye." There is a note on the inside cover from Jessye. It reads:

"April 10, 1982

Great success both nights. Weather perfect—as in Pittsburg—may be here until after the 20th—will advise—To assist at Bishop College for week or 10 days—selections for Porgy & Bess, & teaching new spirituals—for their concert appearances [are?] many tours. Would like to visit Houston before returning to Kansas.--[Giving?] plenty [trace?] for [setting?] 102 in order—how 'bout it?--Appreciate everything—more than years could possibly know.
