Description
Black and White photograph of Frank Baker, first General Manager of KRPS-FM, standing by the sign promoting the new NPR affiliated radio station on campus. Shirk Hall, which was constructed in 1958 as a men's residence hall was renovated in 1988 to house KRPS; the Business and Technology Institute; the Kansas Department of Housing's Regional Office; the University Police and Parking Services; and other agencies. The building was named in honor James Abram Garfield Shirk, a past chairman of the physics department.
