Description
Black and White photograph from the Kermit King collection of Kermit King in mid air during an Intercollegiate Broad jump event at the Milwaukee, Wisconsin stadium. King won the championship for that event in 1937 with a jump of 25' 10 1/2". King tried out for the U.S. Olympic Team in 1936 but missed team placement by a fraction of an inch. In 2002 King was inducted in the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. At the time of his induction, King still held the PSU record for the broad jump, now called the long jump.
