L. A. Guthridge

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to trace the historical events covering more than a century of controversy between the governments of Great Britain end the United States over the North Atlantic Fisheries, with the view of discovering the cause or causes of the very heated misunderstandings that at times all but precipitated war between the two nations. And, finally, to give an account of the peaceable settlement of all the differences by the sensible means of arbitration.
