Abstract
The problem grew out of a class in seminar under the direction of the late Doctor Hugh C. Pryor in the summer of 1931 in which a study was made of the preparation and training of teachers in the secondary schools of Kansas. It was the opinion of the group that there was little definitely known about the collegiate training of the high school teachers of the state. Quite frequently members of the class suggested that research work in this field would be a valuable contribution from the standpoint of information concerning the scholastic attainment of the teachers of secondary education in Kansas.
The writer being a commercial teacher, became interested in ascertaining by actual investigation the educational qualifications of those teaching commercial subjects in the secondary schools of Kansas. With this thought in mind the subject - Educational Qualifications of Commercial teachers in the Four Year Accredited High Schools of Kansas - was evolved. [Taken from introduction]
