Abstract
Throughout the following pages an attempt will be made to tell the story of the life of Robert Livingston and to show the relation between his work as Secretary of Indian affairs at Albany , New York, and the adjacent territory to the Anglo-French struggle along the New York frontier, especially as the struggle is concerned with the Five Nations of central New York and the fur trade of the Great Lakes-Saint Lawrence region.
