Weir, Kansas, is strictly a mining community, located about ten miles southwest of Pittsburg, Weir has a population of 1750, one bank, total deposits $350,000, seven churches, three schools, two theatres, electric lights, artesian water, and natural gas. The miners is this community generally owning their own homes.
