Alpha Kappa Alpha was the first Greek letter organization among Black college women. The sisterhood was founded at Harvard University, Washington D. C. in 1908. KSC’s Beta Nu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha was established in 1937. The Ivy Leaf club is the sorority’s pledge club. Some of the activities Alpha Kappa Alpha participated in this year were the Greek Soul Weekend, the Black and White Ball, and the Miss Bold Black contest.
