H. Francis Short
PSU/KNEA President from Inception (1974)-1975
Dr. H. Francis Short, Pitt State alum, was a member of the Kansas State Teachers College faculty from 1955 to 1986 (after it officially became Pittsburg State University). Short, coached debate for 40 years and was known as the "Head Gorilla" on the national debate circuit during his years at PSU. Short served as PSU's first KNEA president from 1974 to 1975.
George Budd
PSU/KNEA President 1975-1976
Dr. George Budd was the president of Pittbsurg State University, overseeing the construction of McPherson and Garfield W. Weede and the transformation of the College High School into the Kelce Center. He served as the PSU-KNEA's second president from 1975 to 1976.
Orville Brill

Dr. Orville Brill joined PSU in 1965 as an assistant professor in physics and was named a full professor in 1971. He served as PSU-KNEA President from 1976 to 1977.
Gene Vollen

Dr. Gene Vollen was a professor in the Music Department, teaching low brass, music history, and music theory. He served as PSU-KNEA president from 1977 to 1978.
James E. Thomas

Dr. James E. Thomas was a professor of the Physics Department from 1963 to 1998. He served as KNEA president from 1978 to 1979.
V. C. Goold
PSU/KNEA President 1979-1980
V. C. Goold joined PSU as an instructor in 1962 and was promoted to full professor in 1979. He served as chairman of the Department of Technology. Goold was KNEA president from 1979 to 1980.
Judith Shaw

Judith Shaw taught history at PSU from 1959 to 2012 with her research areas being British and French history, local history, and women's history in the 19th and 20th centuries. She served as PSU-KNEA president from 1980 to 1981.
Dale Frihart

Dr. Dale Frihart came to PSU as an assistant professort of Sociology in 1963 and promoted to associate professor in 1966, then full professor in 1972. As well as being chairperson for the Social Sciences department, Frihart served as PSU-KNEA president from 1981 to 1983.

Dr. Mary Carol Pomatto, Pitt State alum and nursing professor, was previously the director of the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. She served as KNEA president from 1990 to 1992.

David Lomshek was a professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology at PSU from 1979 to 2021. He served as president of the PSU-KNEA from 1992 to 1995.
